Definitions: Applicable
to this Insurance Policy and Endorsements
“Company” refers to
Combined Insurance (Thailand) Ltd.
“Insurance Policy”
refers to The Schedule of Insurance Policy, Schedule
of Benefit, General Conditions, Coverage, Exception
and Endorsements.
“Insured” refers to
the person named as Insured in the Policy Schedule and/or
in an Endorsement.
“Medical Practitioner”
refers to A Licensed medical practitioner operating
within the scope of
his/her license and who is not a member of the insured
immediate family.
“Injury” refers to
Bodily injury, which is caused directly, and solely
from an
accident and is independent from other causes.
“Accident” refers
to An event which happens suddenly from external means
giving rise to a result which is not intended or anticipated
by the Insured.
“Hospital” refers
to An institution, which meets the following requirements:
(1) Operates pursuant to law.
(2) Operates primarily for the care and treatment of
sick or injured persons as in-patients.
(3) Provides for 24 hour nursing service.
(4) Have facilities available for diagnosis and surgery
either on its own premises or in facilities available
to the hospital on a pre-arranged basis.
(5) Has a staff of at least one medical practitioner
available at all times. Hospital does not include a
nursing home or convalescent care facility, whether
such a facility is independent or associated with a
hospital.
“Intensive Care Unit”(ICU
Room) refers to that part of a hospital (other than
a patient’s room,
Operating room or recovery room) where patients receive
full-time nursing care and which is commonly known as
the Intensive care unit.
“In-patient” refer
to Hospital confinement which the hospital classifies
an in-patient and should be admitted in the hospital
at least 6 hours.
“Total Permanent Disability”
refers to disability to the extent of being unable to
perform the normal duty in the Insured’s regular occupation
or any other occupation totally and permanently.
